We know how important consistency is when your team is out in the field — and we want to make sure you are set up for success every time a job goes out the door. That is why we are excited to share that Custom Checklist Templates are now available in FieldPulse 3.2!

What This Means for Your Team

Instead of building checklists from scratch for every job type, you can now create reusable templates that capture your standard operating procedures. Whether you are running HVAC inspections, appliance installations, or preventative maintenance visits, your technicians will have the right prompts ready to go.

  • Build once, use everywhere: Create templates for common job types and apply them with one click
  • Standardize quality: Make sure nothing falls through the cracks, even with newer team members
  • Customize per service: Different templates for different work types — you decide what questions matter

Getting Started

You will find the new Checklist Templates section in your Settings menu. From there, you can build templates with multiple question types, mark fields as required, and even attach helpful reference images. Once a template is ready, dispatchers can apply it when creating work orders, or technicians can add it on the fly from the mobile app.

We have also put together a quick walkthrough to help you think through which templates will give you the biggest impact. Getting the Most Out of FieldPulse Checklists has tips from teams who have already rolled this out.

We Are Here to Help

If you would like to talk through how templates might fit into your existing workflows, or if you want to share what you have built with other customers, please reach out. We would love to hear how you are using this to keep your quality standards high and your technicians confident.

  • Hi Deja! Great questions — happy to clarify! Yes, you can absolutely duplicate an existing template. Just open the template you want to copy, select Duplicate from the menu, and you will have a new version ready to edit. This is perfect for building variations on a theme.

There is no hard limit on templates, though we recommend keeping it manageable so your dispatchers can find what they need quickly. We typically see teams in your range (15-20 techs) using 8-12 templates for their core service types.

Let me know if you would like to hop on a quick call to map out which templates might make sense for your workflow — we want to make sure you are set up for success here!

  • Thanks so much for this! We have been waiting for this feature — our old process was basically copying from previous jobs which was not ideal. Quick question though, can we duplicate an existing template to tweak it for a similar service type? Or do we need to build each one from scratch? Also wondering if there's a limit on how many templates we can create? Really appreciate it!
