Capturing customer signature on mobile app — which fields?

hey so basically im trying to figure out how to get customers to sign off on jobs when im out in the field and i found the signature thing in the app but like im not totally sure which fields i need to set up or if theres something in the web side i gotta configure first? my dispatcher mentioned something about form templates but honestly i wasnt really listening lol anyway i tried just tapping around and i see "add signature" but it says no signature fields configured or something like that so yeah what am i missing here

Hi Connor, happy to help! You'll need to set up a signature field in your checklist or form template first — the mobile app can't capture signatures without a configured field to store them in.

Here's how to get this working:

In the web app, go to Settings > Forms & Checklists
Create a new checklist or edit an existing one
Add a Signature field type to your template
Assign this checklist to the relevant Job Types so it appears automatically

Once that's done, your technicians will see the signature field in the mobile app when they open the job checklist. The customer can sign directly on the device screen.

lol yeah its in the checklist template not just like a random button somewhere. gotta add the signature field there first or the app has nowhere to put it

Pro tip: if your dispatcher is busy, just ask them to add the signature field to your standard job closeout checklist. That's what we did at my old company — made it required before you could mark the job complete. Saved a lot of "did you get the signoff?" back and forth later.
