iOS app crashes when opening large work orders — known issue?

In my experience this started happening last week after the 3.3 update. Any work order with more than 10-15 photos or a long checklist (think full electrical inspection) crashes the app 90% of the time when I try to open it. Just black screen then back to home screen.

I've seen this before with other apps when they load everything into memory at once. Is this a known issue or do I need to do something on my end? Using iPhone 12, iOS 17.4, app version 3.3.1.

Right now I'm having to call dispatch to get job details read out to me which is not sustainable.

  • Pro tip: If you're stuck in the field without the fix yet, swipe up to minimize the app instead of force-closing when it hangs. Sometimes it recovers enough to at least show you the job details without reloading from scratch.

Also — this is why I've been telling our newer guys to split bulky inspections into multiple work orders when possible. Not ideal but keeps you moving.

I've been running 3.3.1 on a 13 Pro and haven't hit this, so definitely seems memory-pressure related on the older chips.
