Try FieldPulse with test data before going live?

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to be here — I just joined as a Service Coordinator at a commercial HVAC company and my manager asked me to get FieldPulse set up for our team of 12 technicians. I have to admit I'm a little nervous about doing this right because I've never implemented field service software before and I really don't want to mess anything up that would affect our actual customer data or confuse the techs when we go live! So here's my question — is there any way to experiment with FieldPulse using some kind of fake test data or practice environment? Like maybe sample customers and pretend work orders so I can click around and figure out how scheduling works and how the mobile app looks from the technician side without risking anything real? I tried looking in the settings but I got a little overwhelmed by all the options and I wasn't sure if I was going to accidentally create something that would be hard to undo. I would absolutely love any guidance on this because I want to feel confident before I start training the team! We're hoping to go live in about 3 weeks so I have some time to practice but I want to make sure I'm using that time wisely. Thanks so much in advance for any help you can offer — I really appreciate this community already!

  • Pro tip: Once you're in the sandbox, spend extra time testing the **offline mode** on the mobile app — that's where most new coordinators get surprised. The sample data includes a few work orders marked for rural addresses specifically so you can simulate spotty coverage. Also, don't just test as admin. Create a separate login as one of the mock techs and see what the field view actually looks like. I trained a team where the dispatcher never did this and she kept assigning jobs the techs couldn't actually see properly on their devices.
